Hello again!! It's Miss Tier and I'm BACK with some more adventures with Jesus Daniel and Nathalia's Flat Stanleys! But it gets better...these Flat Stanleys had an adventure with me AND Miss Neal!!! Miss Neal flew from her home in Texas to see me in Maryland! You might not know that Maryland is right next to Washington, D.C., which is the capital of the United States. Miss Neal and I took a train down to Washington D.C. for a day. There is a special festival going on called the Cherry Blossom Festival. Each year, thousands of people come to Washington D.C. to see many trees and their pretty pink flowers! These trees were a gift to the United States from the country of Japan many years ago. Miss Neal and I had a fun time!
Me, Flat Stanleys, and Miss Neal in front of the Washington Monument! This is a VERY tall and famous statue! |
Below, you'll see the Flat Stanleys in front of the Jefferson Memorial, an important building dedicated to one of our presidents! All around us are the cherry blossom trees!
Here's a fun surprise...does anyone remember when my friend Mr. Ryan came to visit us in school for a few days in first grade? Well, he works in Washington D.C., and we got to meet up with him for lunch! The Flat Stanleys enjoyed meeting him!
